Missouri River Authorized Purposes Study (MRAPS)/
Situation Assessment Website

Assessment Survey

The Army Corps of Engineers has been directed by Congress to review the original project purposes established by the 1944 Flood Control Act. The Missouri River Authorized Purposes Study or MRAPS is the first-ever review of the legislation that created the system of dams and reservoirs on the Missouri River and major tributaries. The study will determine if changes in these purposes and the existing federal water resource infrastructure managed by the Corps and Bureau of Reclamation may be warranted given current basis values and priorities.

Public involvement and intergovernmental consultation with affected Tribes are important elements of this study that will be essential for developing findings and recommended actions supported by Missouri River basin communities. We want to explore your views about the original authorized purposes, current values and priorities in the basin, and how stakeholders might be constructively involved in this study going forward. We invite you to complete the electronic survey to express your views.

The survey should take less than five minutes to complete. Survey results will be presented as part of the assessment. The survey software is configured to allow only one survey to be completed from any particular computer.
