Carie Fox, J.D., M.S.
Mediator/Facilitator
Carie is a former soil scientist and lawyer, she now has a private mediation and
facilitation practice, Fox Mediation, based in Portland, Oregon. Carie specializes
in public policy work-usually large, complex, multi-party issues. She also mediates
workplace disputes. She teaches a graduate-level class at Portland State University
and give workshops around the country on such topics as collaborative negotiation,
humor in conflict resolution, and decision science. Recent projects include: Giant
Sequoia National Monument 2007-2008, Western Oregon Plan Revisions 2007, and Wastewater
Treatment Clackamas County 2006

Philip Murphy, Ph.D.
Decision Collaboration Scientist
Philip is the CEO of InfoHarvest, Inc. which he co-founded in November 1995. InfoHarvest
focuses on providing people-centric support solutions for government and industry
involved in complex decision processes. Recent projects focus on innovative online
approaches to engaging the public in complex decisions, including comment gathering
and comment analysis. Prior to founding InfoHarvest, Philip spent several years
in systems planning and software consulting in Europe, Asia and the U.S. His areas
of technical expertise include decision analysis, spatial decision support systems,
auto classification systems, and expert systems.
