PUBLIC MEETING ON THE PROPOSED ROSEMONT MINE
SET FOR NOVEMBER 13, 2008

Carie Fox, of Fox Mediation working on behalf of the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution (U.S. Institute), will convene a public meeting in Vail, Arizona. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the working group that will contribute to the analysis of public comments that have been received by the U.S. Forest Service in response to the proposed Rosemont Mine in the Santa Rita Mountains.

The meeting will be held on November 13, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Empire High School dining auditorium.

Fox and the U.S. Institute are working with the public and representatives of interested stakeholder groups to design an independent, transparent process to increase public participation in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.

The November 13 meeting will provide an opportunity for the public and interested stakeholder groups to familiarize themselves with Fox and the U.S. institute. Fox will use the meeting to gather additional information. At the meeting, participants will also brainstorm ways to create a working group that will organize the public commentary. There also will be a question and answer session.
