Stan Schwellenbach
Pierre, South Dakota
Stan is a Self employed real estate developer and a former member of the Pierre City Commission.
Because of the importance of the Missouri River to the City of Pierre and its citizens (hydro power, river silt, drinking water, recreation, quality of life, etc.) the Commission asked Stan to serve as its representative at the Missouri River Natural Resource Conference. By attending these meetings, Stan learned there are many valid and complicated issues up and down the Missouri River Basin that some day must resolved. Two years ago he was asked by officials from the State of South Dakota to serve on a socio-economic panel for MRRIC representing the state’s local governments.
