Public Workshop Held November 8, 2007

The U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution convened a public workshop on Thursday, November 8, in Omaha, NE to provide information about the efforts of a Planning Group– composed of representatives of tribes, states, local governments, and nongovernmental stakeholders in the Missouri River basin – that is assisting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other federal agencies with programs in the basin, in establishing a Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC).

Workshop participants learned about the proposed DRAFT Charter developed by the Planning Group and offered comments and suggestions for improvements to the Charter. Each session included a brief presentation that explained the origins of the MRRIC Planning Group concept and the development of the DRAFT Charter to-date.
