Joel Christensen

Omaha, Nebraska

Joel Christensen is Vice President of Water Operations for the Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha. As vice president, he's responsible for the operation of a public water supply system that serves 185,000 customers and has a capacity of 234 million gallons per day. The system has two water treatment plants on the Missouri and Platte rivers.

Joel previously worked at both water plants, as Water Supply Engineer, and directed the initial planning for a third water treatment plant.

He holds a B.S. in civil Engineering from North Dakota State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nebraska. He is past-chair and secretary-treasurer of the Nebraska Section of the American Water Works Association.
