Joseph B. Gibbs
Columbia, Missouri
Joseph B. Gibbs, P.E., is experienced in the design of levees, impoundments, and drainage systems; construction supervision; Corps of Engineers and County floodplain construction permits; and the development of computer solutions to engineering design problems. He has extensive experience with the preparation of Engineering Reports and in the preparation of Grant applications for funding from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Federal Economic Development Administration (FEDA) sources. He has extensive project management experience working with private clients and public officials and more than 30 years performing engineering services for both private agri-business clients and Missouri River levee and drainage districts. Since 1964, he has continuously implemented soil conservation projects for abatement of gully and sheet erosion to protect over 1300 acres of family owned hill farm.
Mr. Gibbs' public service has included: Trustee, Callahan Watershed Sub district; Boon County Storm Water Runoff Committee; Boone County Extension Service District Committee; Chairman, Boone County Planning and Zoning Commission; University of Missouri at Columbia Agricultural Engineering Advisory Council; Midway Heights School Board; and Boone County Home Rule Charter Commission.
Mr. Gibbs is a registered professional engineer for the State of Missouri. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering and a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Missouri.
